Ramsey Sharif

Flight Instructor
CFI, CFII, MEI, ATP

Ramsey’s passion for aviation began at age seven after watching “Star Wars”—a spark that never faded. Despite his mother’s doubts, he pursued his dream all the way to the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he earned his commission and was selected for pilot training at Columbus AFB. There, he trained in the T-37 and T-38 before earning his wings and launching a distinguished flying career.

His first operational assignment was with the KC-135 at McConnell AFB, deploying across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. He later returned to Columbus AFB as a T-37 instructor pilot, shaping the next generation of Air Force aviators. Ramsey’s journey then led to Beale AFB, where he was selected to fly the legendary U-2 Dragon Lady—one of the most demanding and prestigious platforms in military aviation. He concluded his Air Force career flying the MC-12W, conducting tactical reconnaissance missions with high-impact results.

After retiring from active duty, Ramsey spent a decade in the IT sector while continuing to fly with the Civil Air Patrol in Auburn, CA. There, he serves as a Search and Rescue Pilot, Instructor, and Check Pilot, combining his operational experience with a passion for mentorship.

Ramsey has accumulated over 5,000 hours of flight time, including 4,000+ hours in jet aircraft and more than 1,200 hours as an instructor. His Air Force decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, 10 Air Medals, and 5 Campaign Medals. Now at Mach 5 Aviation, Ramsey brings his love of flight full circle—sharing his expertise, discipline, and enthusiasm with the next generation of pilots.
