Foreign Pilot Training
Alien Flight Student Program
Even if a student is not a U.S. Citizen, they are still capable of training in the U.S. if they receive permission from the TSA. Here is how:
These steps are just the first few. After paying the $130 processing fee the student must then submit fingerprints per the AFSP's instructions. At this point you have only a preliminary approval from the TSA. The fingerprints are required to finish the process and receive full approval. Approval or disapproval is usually received within seven days. Once the student is approved, they have 180 to start training, and 360 days to finish the program. A photo is taken of the student at the flight school and another set of fingerprints must be taken.
